Healthy Eating Index

This web page contains a Readme file (Readme_HEI2005_NHANES0102PopulationScore.doc) and a documented version of the SAS program (HEI2005_NHANES0102_PopulationScore.txt) and Excel worksheet (HEI2005_NHANES0102_PopulationScore.xls) which create the population HEI-2005 scores for 2001-2002. These scores were used in the Nutrition Insight No. 37, Diet Quality of Americans in 1994-96 and 2001-02 as Measured by the Healthy Eating Index-2005. Links to the necessary databases, including the CNPP Fruit Databases, are also provided. The Readme file includes guidance on calculating HEI-2005 population scores for 1994-96 and 1999-2000 as well as for 2001-2002.
