August 4, 2009. Washington, DC: Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today released a report, Expenditures on Children by Families, 2008, also known as the Cost of Raising a Child.

July 8, 2009. Washington, DC: Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced the appointment of Dr. Rajen Anand as Executive Director of the USDA Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion.

April 6, 2009. Alexandria, VA: CNPP releases Nutrition Insight 43: The Quality of Children's Diets in 2003-04 as Measured by the Healthy Eating Index-2005.

February 17, 2009. Washington, DC: President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) in an effort to jumpstart the US economy. USDA was appropriated $28 billion (3.5%) of the package.
