Pyramid servings data which are based on the 1992 Food Guide Pyramid and the 1996 refuse/loss data are only available from 1970-2000 due to limitations in methodology. The Pyramid Servings data base will be updated to reflect the new 2005 MyPyramid recommendations in the near future.

to estimate Pyramid servings should not be applied to food quantity estimates prior to 1970 due to changes in the U.S. marketing practices and food packaging.
